Research Project
My PhD research has focused on the issue of decolonization in cultural theory and art history. My research approach employs both critical theory and East Asian cultural studies, in order to critically examine the art world in Taiwan and East Asia. My current research in International Institute for Cultural Studies continues the issue of decolonization, with a specific focus on the changing formation of the "Third World/Global South" discourse from the Cold War to the post-Cold War period. My current research will review the international art exhibitions from the 1980s to 1990s, and followed by exploring the artistic and socio-historical comparisons between Taiwan and the Philippines since the Cold War.
