The Point Zero of the Chinese Left: An Exploration of the Chen Yingzhen Studies

This project aims to reframe the cultural and political discussion arising from Chen Yingzhen’s work to understand the issue of the Chinese left today. Although Chen is often considered as a Taiwanese writer, his work and political inclination received great attention in China, especially in the context of the Chinese left. Specifically, when Chen Yingzhen is being regarded as a symbol of Chinese idealism, it is more important that we seek to understand the politics in doing so as it is related to the agenda of the left in the contemporary China.
