Sometimes, the white presents another space or plane for us to peep into while other times, it provides the source of light in the dominance of darkness. The disorder of space and dimension breaks the linear thinking in reality. Somehow reality and dream blur, but the difference or the contrast, like that between day and night do not simply disappear, but coexist and combine to give us another perspective. But the violinist doesn't seem to go with the atmosphere. Junior Year. comment: Chagall "Le Violoniste" I think after loking at this picture, it really makes me feel comfortable and jolly. The violonist seem to be totally engrosed in his music and dances gayly to the sound of the violin. The huts behind him seems to be covered by snow which might mean that christmas is approaching and the villagers are all very happy and joyfull. But the weird thing is his face and half of the floor is also colored green, I think it is due to the reflection from the lights of the street.The violonist out fit is also very decent and has a taste of a entertainer, its half brown and half cream color. The most pious thing about this art is we can clearly see a church in the back yard. The church resembles good luck and joy to the whole village. The extra ordinary about the violonist is he is stanping on a small hut. One leg on the ground and the other in a form of astride. The scenery contains every thing of the nature, it has trees, huts, people walking behind the violonists, and also the big thing is the church. name: June 483200704 英文三 comment: Chagall "Le Violoniste" 3/6/97 From the title itself, "The Violinist", a man floating on the air playing his violin with the background scenery of local village, church and hills. The effect of the painting brought out the peacefulness of the village with only the sound of the violin making the sphere more pleasant. Yet, we might be very curious why can a human being have a green face or probably why can he fly. It seems that Marc Chagall is trying to present the true musician, who can give up all the unhuman experience, where many are stuggling between fame and wealth yet only in music man can experience the true way of life.
