name: English junior, Patrick Chen 483200170 comment: Dali,"Soft Construction with Boiled Beans:Premonition of Civil War" Without seeing the title of the painting, I can't understand what the conflict is in the painting at first. I guess that it might be something violent between a male and female. Actually, it is about the war and I just have to focus on the strength from the two beings. We can see one being is stepping on the other who is similarly holding another's limb. I can't figure out what it is clearly. However, as to me, I look at the two limbs "connecting" the two beings and think of them as the most powerful parts in the painting, meanwhile, the other parts of the two beings are just incredibly suffered. For example, " The persistence of the Memory ". Here the men are killed curelly and moreover, their bodies are divided into several parts and scattered everywhere. The color in this painting simpale-- there are only blue, brown, black and white. The painting is not colorful, I would say. However, just because of this reason, we can feel how the ruthless and heartless wars are. I wonder that why Dali ususlly use the cold colors in his paintings.
