The pink bow covering the breast of the central woman symbolizes the tender, feminine characteristic, and at the same time the wrapping of gifts or hiding of the secret succeed to form a focus of the subjet. The hooded woman on the left side of the road a bit farther than the nude one on the right marks a beginning of a process: a wholly covered woman (may also suggest nuns or Virgin Mary. They lived closely with the nature, surrounded by the antiquity of the architecture. They don't even have to be suffocated by the traditional clothing or even the jewelries to allure their physical attaction. All they need is a piece of cloth to wrap around their bare breast. Nonetheless, the painting also presents the shabby appearance of women in the society--they seems to serve like a gift for men to choose upon, as they were tied up with a ribbon and walking on a carpet to present their beauty to man.
