A Book Forum: Re-Articulations: Trajectories of Foreign Literature Studies in Taiwan

 

《落地轉譯》擷選重要的變化與論辯，以突出形塑外文研究的體制性力量；同時對幾個重要案例──奠基學人、重要機構、關鍵論辯與新興領域──進行分析，以掌握外文研究的知識生產與時代、社會與西方學術的互動，思考其流轉與變異，並藉此回顧，重新測定外文研究自身的價值與意義。

 

Re-Articulations: Trajectories of Foreign Literature Studies in Taiwan explores the important changes and key debates in the discipline of foreign literature studies to showcase the institutional forces that have formed and shaped it. It studies pioneering scholars and critical institutions of the field and analyzes important debates and emerging subfields in different conjunctures—to grasp how in each phase foreign literature studies interacted with its own social contexts and the transformation of the West so as to measure its values and meanings as a form of knowledge production.

 

本場座談希望拓展該書的問題意識，從文學研究與歷史互振的角度出發，在不同的學科語境（外文研究、中文研究、台文研究、文化研究、當代中國史研究等）裡，思考文學研究與政治狀況的對應。透過不同領域與世代學者的觀點，這場座談從《落地轉譯》出發，希望深入激盪，對文學與歷史提出更多值得討論和對話的課題。

 

The forum will further investigate the problematics of the book, starting from the resonance of foreign literature studies and historical transformations in Taiwan, to generate a discussion across different disciplines (including studies of Chinese Literature, Taiwan Literature, modern China, and cultural studies) on how literary studies engages in political and historical changes. The forum brings together scholars from different disciplines and generations will explore these topics, to generate further discussion on literature, history, and politics.
