Call for participants: ICCS students research group

Objectives
To facilitate student research team on any project related to the ICCS MOE SPROUT Project: “Conflict, Justice, and Decolonization: Critical Research to Inter-Asia Societies.”

Application method: fill up the application form, request ICCS researchers to serve as a supervisor, submit the form and proposal to ICCS mailbox: iccs@nctu.edu.tw.
Eligible Applicants: currently enrolled students.
Application deadline: Sep 14th, 2019

*ICCS office will announce the results after the evaluation by the Student Affairs Division of the ICCS Steering and Executive Committee.

Method
1.   To form the student research group (3-5 persons), conduct regular discussion for three months, on any theme related to ICCS Project: “Conflict, Justice, and Decolonization: Critical Research to Inter-Asia Societies.”
2.   We encourage research groups formed with international and local students, particularly cross-campus participants.
3.   One member of the ICCS researchers or post-doc fellows should supervise the project.
4.   Research results should publish on the ICCS CJD platform or Working Paper Series.
5.   The granted research team are required to submit the research report.

Additional Remarks

The ICCS Graduate Student Working Group Grant supports ICCS related MA and Ph.D. students as they collaborate on innovative agendas in ways that contribute to the advancement of the ICCS project under the theme of "Conflict, Justice, Decolonization" as a whole. Working groups may consist of 3 to 5 individuals who will collaborate to address a clearly-defined and timely issue or the early stages of research on a new topic related to the ICCS project. Throughout the three months, members must engage in regular, ongoing virtual communication and meeting

Application
Graduate student organizers will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the working group and will work in conjunction with the supervisor. Faculty supervisors are not expected to take an active role in the working group’s research or programming; their sole responsibility is to oversee the feasibility of the project and participate in the occasion of their final presentation.

*About Project Description/Research Proposal
The project description should be a maximum of 2,000 words and include the following elements:
1.   Problem Statement, including a description of the topic or issue that the working group seeks to address and its short- and long-term significance to the ICCS project.
2.   List of Participants, including each participant's name, department, brief biography, topics of individual sub-project, and relevance/contribution to the collaborative project and its stated objectives. The sub-project may be part of the individual student's thesis/dissertation, but may also be a related and extended issue.
3.   Calendar of Proposed Dates and Locations for the in-person meetings as well as any other group-sponsored events or activities.
4.   Proposed Objectives, scholarly publications, or conference panel presentation, or innovative format of zines, published on ICCS-Working Paper Series or ICCS-CJD Platform. The outcome of either form should be of equivalent quality.
5.   Budget Plan: The budget plan can include the personnel expenses, manuscript fees, printing fees ..etc which is related to the research project.
