The technological mediation between the person in the middle and character of Vtuber(Virtual Youtuber)

Pai is currently a MA student in the Institute of Social Research and Cultural Studies at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University. My research interests include media and virtual technologies, Vtuber studies, and STS (Science, Technology, and Society). In my master's thesis, I will attempt to analyze the notion of virtuality in Vtubers from a media studies perspective, as well as examine the embodiment of " the person in the middle" responsible for performing the role outside of virtual technologies. Additionally, I will explore the history of Vtubers for comparative analysis and attempt to connect it with broader socio-cultural contexts.
