Abstract:
The talk will address the multiple crises of the European Union particularly focusing on the connection between austerity policies and the so-called “migration crisis”. It will dwell both on the mutations of democracy within these developments and on the global implications of the current predicament of the European Union. Questions of postcolonialism and decolonization will be addressed from the angle of an analysis of the shifting and elusive borders between Europe and its multiple outsides.
