International Digital Summer Camps

2021-07-12 - 2021-08-14

INVITATION TO COLLABORATION:

PROJECT 1: 12-23 July 2021- participate in a digital photo exhibition!

For the second time the International Youth Meeting Centre (IYMC) of the Nazi Forced Labour Documentation Centre in Berlin is organising an international online study camp "Searching for Traces of Forced Labour" in cooperation with Service Civil International Germany.

The main idea of the project is to prepare a digital photo exhibition on the topic of Nazi forced labour and modern forms of free and unfree labour.
You will be invited to search for traces of forced labour in your home country and to document the results with the camera.
No prior knowledge in photography is necessary. You will get an introduction by a professional photographer.

We'll meet online (Mon-Fr) between 12-23 of July for max. 3 hours a day, 10-13 CET.

You can read more about the project here:

To have an idea of what to expect, you can see the exhibition from last year's study camp here:

To register, please contact your local SCI branch or Tanja Vaitulevich at vaitulevich@topographie.de.

PROJECT 2: 2 8-14 August 2021 - let's develop a digital staged reading together!

For the first time the IYMC is organising an international digital camp in cooperation with our long-term partner Action Reconciliation Service for Peace (ASF).

We are preparing an exciting week that will consist of biography work and will give you a chance to develop a staged reading together with other international participants. For these purposes we will study life-stories of former forced laborers, as well as other actors, eye-witnesses and collaborators of NS-forced labour.

We will then work with the texts of the interviews and develop a staged reading together using digital tools. A staged reading is a form of theatre without sets. As the final output of the project we would like to record it and produce it as a short film.

All in all, one week online (Sun-Sat) 8-14 August 2021, 3-4 hours a day. 9.30-12.30/13.30 CET

You can read more about the project and register here:

To register, please apply through ASF or contact Tanja Vaitulevich at vaitulevich@topographie.de.
