Alexandre Erler, Institute of Philosophy of Mind and Cognition, NYCU.
Bio
Alexandre Erler is a philosopher whose work explores issues arising from scientific and technological developments with the potential to profoundly transform society and the human condition, including research in artificial intelligence and brain science. He earned his doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Oxford, where he was affiliated with the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics. He is now an Associate Professor at the Institute of Philosophy of Mind and Cognition, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, in Taipei. His current research focuses on philosophical, ethical, and political challenges raised by emerging AI technologies, including their implications for human rights and democracy.
Event Description
The workshop, conducted in English, will explore how AI can be used in academic research and writing while adhering to ethical guidelines. Its main objective is to raise awareness among students and researchers about how to engage with AI responsibly and uphold academic integrity. Additionally, the workshop will encourage both the speaker and participants to present the AI tools they use for academic research and writing, and to share their user experiences.
*Simultaneous interpretation in Mandarin will be provided.
