From Silk Road to Belt and Road

This research focuses on the Belt and Road Initiative, through sorting out the history of the Silk Road as the method: from Chinese, Pan-Mongolian, and Pan-Islamic forces in the Silk Road history, to the colonial history of the East India Company and the Imperialist Pan-East Asian Co-prosperity Sphere. Referring to the above histories, the research shall try to build a historical comparative perspective for the Belt and Road initiative, and to analyze the political. economic, and social issues triggered in Eastern Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia. The research also concerns the economic phenomena of contemporary China, including the punitive measures regarding real estate, finance, and technology related corporations. Related papers have been published titled “Has China Demographic-Economically Already Gone Bust?” in the conference of “Governmentality and the Neo-liberal Order in China.” Articles concerning Belt and Road initiative research are as below: “Behind the Facade of B&R Generosity: Uncharitable Chinese, Ungrateful Africans” and“The Fragility of the Belt and Road Initiative”.
