Chinese Literature in the Post-Revolutionary Era
Principle Investigator:Wenchian Huang
This project considers the “post-revolutionary” issues arising from the open and reform era since the 1980s. It studies such new-generation writers as Xuang Xuetao and Zhang Zhiqi to map the landscape of contemporary Chinese literature from the Northeast, Tibet, to the Southwest, and to explore the problems arising from the termination of revolution. It tries to understand how the post-revolutionary China evolved from an uneven geography of development and how madness or depression become the manifestation of China’s spiritual problem today.
