活動簡介：

 

「當我們生活在一個理論上人人都可以製作影像的世界時，這對影像生產和影像意義意味著什麼？ 」

 

哈倫・法羅基（Harun Farocki, 1944-2014）生前製作了120多部電影、電視節目和錄像作品，可他對媒體領域的巨大影響卻尚未得到充分的體現。2017年起，凱文・李（Kevin B. Lee）於柏林法羅基學院（HaFi.）擔任首位駐村藝術家，為歌德學院和HaFi.駐村計畫製作了一系列關於法羅基的影像論文。李的影像論文採用法羅基「影像研究影像」（images studying images）之策略，應用桌面紀錄片和影像辭典（videographic lexicography）等新穎方法，探索法羅基其艱巨複雜的作品群。

 

本次映演將呈現凱文．李《Learning Farocki》系列三部曲：

"When we live in a world in which theoretically anyone can make images, what does it mean for the production of images and the meaning of images? "

 

Harun Farocki (1944–2014) produced over 120 works of film, television, and video art, but his immense impact on the media landscape has yet to be fully appreciated. Following his tenure as the first artist-in-residence of the newly formed Harun Farocki Institut in Berlin, Kevin B. Lee produced a series of video essays on Farocki for the Goethe-Institut. Lee’s video essays adopt Farocki’s own strategy of “images studying images” to explore the latter’s formidable oeuvre, applying such novel approaches as desktop documentary and videographic lexicography.

 

This screening will present “Learning Farocki” trilogy:

導演簡介：

 

凱文．李是一名導演、媒體藝術家和評論家。製作超過 360 部探索電影和媒體的影像論文，屢獲殊榮的《變形金剛：預製》引入了「桌面紀錄片」格式，並被視聽（Sight & Sound）評為 2014 年最佳紀錄片之一。凱文是 2017 年柏林法羅基學院的駐村藝術家。2019 年，他受歌德學院委託製作了《學習法羅奇》一系列關於哈倫．法羅奇的影像論文。他目前是斯圖加特梅茲學院（Merz Akademi）的跨媒體出版（Crossmedia Publishing）教授。2022 年起，他將在瑞士義大利語區大學（USI）出任盧卡諾影展（Locarno Film Festival）的教授。

 

Kevin B. Lee is a filmmaker, media artist, and critic. He has produced over 360 video essays exploring film and media. His award-winning Transformers: The Premake introduced the “desktop documentary” format and was named one of the best documentaries of 2014 by Sight & Sound. He was 2017 Artist in Residence of the Harun Farocki Institut in Berlin.  In 2019 he produced “Learning Farocki”, a series of video essays on Harun Farocki, commissioned by the Goethe Institut. He is currently Professor of Crossmedia Publishing at Merz Akademie, Stuttgart. Beginning in 2022 he will be the Locarno Film Festival Professor for the Future of Cinema and the Audiovisual Arts at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).
