《鯤言》以佐藤春夫所著《殖民地之旅》、吳新榮日記（1945-1947）鍾理和《假黎婆》、原民第一本漢語小說、二二八局部口述等作為貫穿影像敘事的文學軸心，從社寮島作為索語起始，透過霧社、台南空襲、嘉義水上機場、新店大粗坑等地，進行台灣語言政策遞嬗與常民生活、政治事件的交錯關係之現地歷史考察。
