Introduction:
Making documentary is similar to the fieldwork of academic research. The only difference is the different usage of media. Documentary is the watching media for the general public, a documentary photographer is an interpreter and transcriber. Before making a documentary, we need to know the limit of lens language, and what we realized about the people, things, objects and surrounding is very limited. With curious and humble attitude to explore, we use sounds and images to interpret all of the things we want to film. In the lectures series of transit-Asia media lab, Adjunct Assistant Professor Yi-Chieh CHUNG is going to share how he use theory to reflect images practices, on the contrary, reflecting theory through images practices.
