本場講座聚焦於中美兩國迷你影集和串流平台之間的相互影響,探討非線性、非同步、訂閱制的「追劇」消費模式,如何影響當今全球化的串流平台生態系。
This talk discusses the interplay between serial dramas and streaming services in PRC and the US, the two leading countries in content-production and circulation in the era of non-linear, non-synchronized, and subscription-based online consumption characterized by “binge” in an instantaneous and globalized streaming ecosystem.
講者介紹: Ying ZHU is the founder of a peer reviewed journal, Global Storytelling: Journal of Digital and Moving Images. She has published ten books including Hollywood in China: Behind the Scenes of the World’s Largest Movie Market (2022) and Two Billion Eyes: The Story of China Central Television. Zhu’s writings have appeared in academic journals including Journal of Cinema and Media Studies and Screen as well as media outlets including The Atlantic, BBC, Boston Global, CNN, Financial Times, Foreign Policy, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Review of Books, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Previously a tenured professor at the City University of New York, Zhu is now a tenured professor in the Academy of Film, the Hong Kong Baptist University. Zhu is also an adjunct faculty at the Columbia University.
