本書為2014年8月25-29日於阿爾巴尼亞的科爾察舉辦之身體的政治用途（The Political Uses of Body）國際研討會所集結成果。本次會議由地拉那大學社會科學院社會學與政治學系，法國游牧哲學家學會（ici et Ailleurs pour une Philosophie Nomade），對角線網絡（the Network Diagonal）主辦，交通大學協辦。 本書的核心問題：身體作為一個政治對象，通過對於布置工具化政治手段的分析，強調其實「力」和「抵抗力」與「反政治用途」的不同形式。因此，本會議不僅限於描述性的視角，也包括積極與消極的面向，這一轉變正是參與會議者所貢獻的主要軸心。此次這焦點核心在於「身體能動性」的可能，也是更新倫理議題的重新反思。​
