【電影及討論會簡介 Film & Discussion Abstract】
《The Unbearable Being of Lightness》/ 2016 / 45mins
紀錄片製作人Ramchandra PN在研究印度賤民(Dalit)的學者與社會運動者——羅希特·維姆拉(Rohit Vemula)自殺之後,前往海德拉巴大學(University of Hyderabad)。這一事件引發了一系列隨後的抗議活動,當時他正在為一群學生舉辦紀錄片電影研討會。在那裡,他面臨著從基層Dalit抗爭者的角度來看此議題在夾雜歷史與當今國家當中的問題。
透過討論,我們將看看印度種姓政治的複雜性,從英國殖民歷史時期到印度當代社會政治環境。在爬梳印度種姓的形成過程中,討論將集中在討論階級、文化、宗教習俗之間相互交織的問題,以及Dalit 的政治抵抗。
【紀錄片導演簡介 Filmmaker】
Ramchandra PN is an Indian filmmaker graduated from ‘Screenplay writing and Direction’ in the year 1991 from ‘FTII’, Asia’s premier film school. His first feature won him the Best Indian Film at the Osian Cinefan Festival of Asian Films in 2006. His second film won the Best Children’s film at the Indian National Film Awards in the year 2009.

Dipak Barkhade, is a senior PhD research scholar at Hyderabad Central University, India. Currently, he is working on Bundeli language which is spoken in Central India in the context of linguistic minority discourse. A Dalit himself by his social background, he has been a supporter of ASA (Ambedkar Student Association) an organization of Dalit students.
Tushar Ghadage, trained in Law and received his Master's degree in Social Work with the specialization in Criminology and Justice from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences [TISS], Mumbai, India. His current research is focusing on multiple religious identities of Dalits and the implications of caste atrocities in Maharashtra. He is attach to the Department of Anthropology, University of Hyderabad (UoH), Hyderabad, India.
